News Veterans Celebrated at Flag Raising Ceremony

Veterans Day 2016 Ceremony at East Jefferson General Hospital

East Jefferson General Hospital celebrated the heroes in the community on Veterans Day, holding a special flag raising ceremony on Friday morning to recognize those who have served and protected.

World War II veterans U.S. Army Air Corps Captain Alonzo P. Emerson, Jr., who served on a B-25 bomber in Italy, and U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Raymond Ferran, who took part in the Battle of the Rhein River, were on hand to raise the country’s colors.

Nearly 100 veterans gathered outside the Wellness Center for the raising of the flag and the playing of the National Anthem. EJGH thanks all of our veterans for their service and dedication to our country.
