Orientation for New Practitioners

East Jefferson General is pleased to provide a two-part orientation program for all new medical staff applicants and advanced practice physician extenders.

Part 1 – Online New Practitioners Orientation

The online portion is designed with convenience in mind, and is your opportunity to complete requirements linked to the initial application process. There are eight(8) parts required to complete this portion of the orientation:

Upon completion of the content, please print and sign the Medical Staff Orientation Certification of Completion Form indicating the dates of completion for each element. Please return the form to Medical Staff Services Office with the supplemental application.

Please Note: Completion of the On-line New Practitioners orientation is part of the application process. Your application will not be considered complete until the signed form is returned to the Medical Staff Services Office.

Part 2 – Required On-site Orientation.

Applicants for medical staff privileges must attend the required formal orientation. Each attendee is invited to attend upon notification that the Medical Staff application is scheduled to be presented to the Governing Board for final approval.

Please Note: Completion of the On-site Medical Staff orientation is part of the application process. This portion must be completed for final approval of the application. Medical Staff privileges may not be exercised until final Governing Board approval.

Physician Services will contact you to coordinate your orientation.

The program consists of the following activities:

  • Computer access with hands-on training
  • Dictation instructions
  • Picture taking for ID Badge and access code for parking
  • Meet key organizational leaders

Please Note: Your East Jefferson General Hospital identification badge and parking tag will only be issued following completion of the both portions of the orientation.
