East Jefferson Women’s Care is an MPSI practice managed by East Jefferson General Hospital.
Each day, the physicians of East Jefferson Women’s Care provide the highest levels of personalized care to the women we serve. Our patients know they can count on us through every stage of their lives.
The physicians at East Jefferson Women’s Care represent some of the most dedicated and successful obstetric physicians in our region. Averaging nearly a thousand births per year, our physicians are uniquely qualified to see you, and your baby, through every aspect of your pregnancy and birth. Perhaps the greatest compliment our physicians can receive is the number of women who return to our practice for care in delivering their second, third and even fourth child.
Each of our ob/gyn specialist physicians are trained in high-risk obstetric care. Many of our high-risk ob patients self-refer to our ob/gyn physicians, and other patients are referred by family practice physicians, or other mid-level providers.
East Jefferson Women’s Care provides perinatology services for patients who need more extensive ultrasound services.
During your pregnancy you may require amniocentesis, to detect potential risks or abnormalities with your pregnancy. If you choose to have this procedure performed, one of our specially trained physicians will perform the procedure. Our goal is to provide you the highest level of information regarding the progress of your pregnancy.
Your initial OB visit will consist of a comprehensive exam designed to determine your state of health entering pregnancy. The exam will include lab work, as well as thorough education on a variety of pregnancy issues.
Following your First OB exam, other lab tests may be done throughout your pregnancy to verify that you and your baby are healthy. Some of these tests include urinalysis, hemoglobin blood test, glucose tolerance test, and one or more ultrasound scans.
Generally, after your First OB exam, you will be asked to follow up with your health care provider on a monthly basis, up until your eighth month. At this time, visits are recommended on a weekly basis. This schedule is a guideline and your health care provider may ask to see you more often, or less often, depending on your and your baby’s health status.
As leaders in the field of Gynecological care, East Jefferson Women’s Care is dedicated to providing our patients the highest levels of care throughout every stage of your life. These services address, but are not limited to all the areas listed below.
