Center for Longevity & Wellness Maximizing quality of life for our patients through physical, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing

The Center for Longevity and Wellness is a state of the art internal medicine facility, founded in May of 2003 by Dr. Leonard B. Kancher and Dr. Gerald M. Weiner.

The Center is designed to be a unique and nurturing environment conducive to healing. With state of the art bone densitometer from GE Lunar, and blood drawing capabilities, the most commonly recommended studies can be performed at the Center. Additionally, the Center has a fully staffed Day Spa area, providing both massage and skin care services for our patients, as well as the general public. The Center was designed with the wellbeing of the patients and spa clients in mind.

Mission:

The Center for Longevity and Wellness in Metairie is dedicated to improving the well-being of our patients. Using best practice and evidence-based medical principles, we strive to make the sick well and the terminal peaceful, while maximizing the quality of life for all our patients Physically, Emotionally and Spiritually.

Insurance:

We accept most public and private health insurance. Call to see if we are in network with your insurance plan. The Spa accepts BC/BS insurance, call to find out if you qualify.

Life Extension News:

We are no longer offering online ordering of Life Extension. We apologize for the inconvenience. You may still order Life Extension directly or you may come in and purchase your supplements in The Shoppe. We can no longer ship out any items that we carry in-house. All purchases through CLW will need to be made in The Shoppe. Thank you.

Meet Our Founding Physicians

Dr. Gerald M. Weiner, M.D. FACP

Gerald Weiner, MD, obtained his undergraduate degree from Tulane University and earned his medical degree with special honors from the University of Miami School of Medicine. He completed his internship at Ochsner Foundation Hospital in Jefferson, Louisiana. From 2003-2016, Dr. Weiner served as the President of The Center for Longevity and Wellness. He enjoyed providing comprehensive medical care to his patients with an emphasis on prevention.

Dr. Leonard B. Kancher, M.D.

Leonard B. Kancher, MD, received his undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and his medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in Shreveport, Louisiana. From 2003-2016, Dr. Kancher served as the Medical Director at The Center for Longevity and Wellness, and enjoyed all aspects of internal medicine with particular interest in preventative, healthcare, and chronic disease management.
