The celebration for the EJGH Nurse Magnet Re-designation continued last week as hospital leadership hosted a plaque presentation in the Atrium. Hospital, nurse and medical staff leadership all congratulated the nursing program and the entire organization for the hard work and dedication it took to become only the 52nd hospital in the country to receive a third consecutive Magnet accreditation. EJGH was first awarded the Nurse Magnet accreditation in 2002 and became Louisiana’s first Nurse Magnet hospital. The nursing and hospital continually strives to raise the level of care and is proud to become the first in the state to also become a three-time accredited hospital.
Also in attendance was representatives from the EJGH Auxiliary, who has been a tremendous advocate for continued nursing education since the inception of the hospital. The EJGH Auxiliary generously funds the EJGH Nursing Education & Leadership Program as well as the Nursing Certification Reimbursement Program.
